Limelight Film Night Review

On Sunday 10th of  March, we were invited at the Limelight Film Night at Rich Mix, London.

During this Film Night, five short movies which were nominated in different categories at Limelight Film Awards 2012 were introduced to the audience.

The first movie to open the night was Fixing Luka, by Jessica Ashman. This frame by frame animated movie told the story of Lucy, and Luka her little brother who seems to be "broken". Through this poetic and moving metaphor, we can guess the director wanted to talk about her own experience of living with an autistic brother.

Then, the second film, entitled 22, told the story of a young boy, who regained hope and faith in the world with a simple and unusual conversation with a lady. Unless this short movie only lasts around three minutes, it was very powerful, and it transmitted in a very efficient way the main message. The director, Bivas Ambasada, was present at the event. He highlighted the use of specific colours to represent the mood of the young boy. His main message was that sometimes people lose faith and hope, and just by speaking to them it can make them feel better.

The film-makers of the short movie 'Trunks'

A short break came after, with the performance of the two artists of Make Money Entertainment.

Frame of mind followed. Directed by Zornista Petkova, this silent film was the story of how two people meet. The music took an important part, to represent the different feelings of the two characters. It is a very cute and beautiful story which makes us want to fall in love!

Man in a cat came afterwards. This animated movie related the life of a small man who lives inside of a cat, and how he first fell in love with the cat's owner, until he met a women of the same size as him. Louis Hudson has produced here a silly and fun short movie, cute and quite disgusting at the same time.

Finally, the last movie, called Trunks, was directed by David Hewitt. Trunks shows us the way a straight man realizes he is gay. The whole scene takes place at the swimming pool, and in voice-over, we hear a conversation between the main character and his ex-girlfriend, he is actually telling her what happened while he was swimming. The strange thing is that underwater he felt gay, and at the surface he felt straight. This movie had impressive underwater images, and we could noticed the amazing work on the framing, the production and the editing.

This Film Night was really interesting, and it's always a pleasure to discover new creations from independent film makers!

My favourite London Events so far
by Laura Makhloufi

 photo DSCN2327_zps1c0ce3b6.jpgHi blog followers!

My name is Laura Makhloufi and I am an intern at the Celebrity Creations Management company; I currently study Foreign Languages in Tours (France), but my main goal is to get a great job in  an event management company! Creating new relationships with new people, attending and setting up events describes exactly what I love!
Since the beginning of my intern-ship, I have attended many events outside of what I am used to and met amazing people, this is why I am writing this article! Let’s talk about my top attended events in London!

The Danish Wakeel’s 'Glamourised Victimisation' Casting Event - Aura, Mayfair, London January 2013

The very first event that I attended while in London took place at  a very trendy venue in London's city centre, Aura Mayfair. It was a pre-party London Fashion Week party and introduction organized by the designer Danish Wakeel!

Wakeel invited members of the press, friends in the fashion world and models to his open search for models and dancers for his forthcoming fashion show during the period of London Fashion Week. The venue had a great atmosphere, from the energy of the guests, to the flashing photography of the press and the music to set the scene in the club!
A great event and live casting for Danish Wakeels new collection ‘Glamourised Victimisation’.

The London Fashion Week/ Fashions Finest, February 2013
Definitely the best event until now, the inevitable annual rendez vous for all the ‘fashionistas’ in the Westbury Hotel! Designer’s interviews, pictures of amazing catwalks… a special and unique event in the fashion world where we were lucky enough, courtesy of Crystal King UK to be two reporters sitting in the front row! It as a fabulous event and one that I think everyone should be queueing up to get a ticket for next time! From the crisp white runway to the amazing designers and the models that were casted for each piece - so much attention was paid to details and it was a great show to witness during the period of London Fashion Week

Holborn House Unplugged is a new monthly music night set up by Celebrity Creations Management and Holborn House and we had the chance to help manage and prepare the event and launch it this February! It was a very good experience in the music world for me to discover some new talents through this Open-Mic, with all genres turning up to perform on the night including some jazz vibes, r'n'b, spoken word and indie/pop. Overall the event has an intimate and friendly atmosphere and I recommend it to professional music acts looking for a platform to perform in front of a mature audience and music industry professionals

I had the tasty opportunity to be a food critic this February at Dane's Yard Kitchen, a lovely restaurant located in Stratford, East London.  I went down to the restaurant with Carol-Ann, invited alongside many other to try out the amazing new food selection available at the venue.
The new menu was full of goodies for everyone, from mini sandwiches and herbed new potato platters to seasoned vegetables and olives - I had a delicious time tucking in to it all!  The restaurant itself was pleasant  and the staff very welcoming! A very good place to dine for business meets and the general public!

And finally The Pamper Sessions was also a favourite of mine. The unisex beauty, health and well-being event that takes place every three months in London at The Crowne Plaza, Docklands! Skin products, make-up and nails stands, jewellery, accessories, clothing and more!  A whole day out to think about yours truely! Yourself!
Lets not forget to mention the amazing candy shop with various sweets for those with a sweet tooth and the delicious cup cake stand by Deluxury Cupcakes!  The Pamper Sessions really did have everything that you can think of when it comes to the feel good factor of looking good and feeling great! And as if that wasn't enough, all guests were treated to the gift of a lovely goody bag upon entry to the event with small gifts and treats and vouchers and flyers for after the event.
A very good event indeed!

My top attended London events so far
by Carol-Ann Habasque

My name is Carol-Ann and I am a 20 year old French student, currently doing an intern-ship in London as it’s part of my Foreign Applied Languages Degree.
I am passionate about fashion, music, arts, cinema and culture in general. I have previously worked in the area of events management and loved it, so Celebrity Creations Management turned out to be the perfect company for my interniship!  I have only been in London for just over a month and already I have attended so many diverse and amazing events!
Here are my favourites so far!

The Pamper Sessions was the first event within my intern-ship, where I was able to take part  personally as an events assistant and join the administration and preparations for the event. This beauty, fashion, well-being and fitness event took place just before Valentine’s Day and it was just the perfect time for guests to get pampered and prepared for the day of love!

The event attracted a lot of businesses, allowing them to showcase their products and services at the event and it was also a very good opportunity for the guests to meet the business owners, to enjoy quality products and therapies with special offers, and, of course, to get pampered! I  really enjoyed the experience! The next edition of The Pamper Sessions will be in May!

The Stereohype Festival an event created by Time to Change, was a new way of promoting and making people in the community aware of Positive Mental Health as well as their own well-being, set up to challenge the stigma and discrimination that is associated with mental health issues.
A fun and vibrant two day festival which showcased a wide variety of music, film, drama, comedy, well-being workshops and teachings.  Special features on the day included Ankh Place, a well-being collective of London therapists run by Mavis Wenham, were there all day to provide free therapy sessions to the community and there was a very special LIVE performance by Crystal King UK! A great event to witness!

Fashions Finest: Fashions Finest was a fashion event which took place in the middle of the London Fashion Week (LFW) at The Westbury Hotel.

I was so excited to be doing my intern-ship placement during LFW and attended a few events - this was one of my favourites because the event was there as a platform for introducing creative young fashion designers to the fashion market.

Sitting in the front row with my press pass, I couldn’t have had a better view of the catwalk and the different collections which were showcased.
A great day out for all involved and a great show, I would go again! www.fashionsfinest.com

So there you have it - what an intern-ship so far! The ladies have had a great first month here at Celebrity Creations Management, full of the smiles, sounds, sights, tastes and the overall feel of London Town! Make sure that you make a note and follow The Lovestuck Londonaire blog over the next few months to see what backstage press passes they received, who they rubbed shoulders with and to see some of the one-on-one close-up experiences that Carol-Ann and Laura managed to gain with Crystal King UK herself at Celebrity Creations Management.

We hope to see you soon - please leave comments!
